2025 Design Contest

2024 Design Contest Winner Sueey Gutierrez “Renacer en las aguas de Moncagua”

The Friends of the American Latino Museum (FRIENDS) is excited to announce its 14th annual design contest! The top 10 designs will advance to a national round where the public can vote on their favorite design. In addition, their artwork will appear across the many digital and in-person platforms of the FRIENDS campaign, including posters and promotional materials throughout the remainder of the year.

“For years our Annual Design Contest has served to remind people of all backgrounds, through art, of the importance of our shared American history and the beauty and strength that lies in our diverse origins,” said Estuardo Rodriguez, President/CEO, FRIENDS. “As we draw closer to the last legislative leg of this campaign, focused on the location of the future museum, it is appropriate that we explore what brings us together despite our differences. Art has always been an exceptional way to bring that out and our Design Contest has been the best example of that.”

Previous winners have included Latino painters, designers, and illustrators from coast to coast and everywhere in between who represent the full diversity of American Latinos in the US.

Artists can submit their designs at link below. The deadline is July 16 at midnight ET. Public voting begins on our website from July 21 through July 25. The winning artist and design will be announced on July 28 and will receive a $500 Target gift card.

Good luck and we can’t wait to see your design!
