Join the Friends of the American Latino Museum in Los Angeles for series of events highligting the contributions of our brothers and sisters.

On December 6th, we invite you to join us for a panel discussion on the state of the Latino narrative in the United States, followed by our 6th Annual American Latino Influencer Awards celebrating the contributions of the Latino community to business, arts, politics, and more.

Our morning sessions will include panelists will include Latino educators, journalists, and change-makers already shaping today’s narrative. Comedian Jesus Trejo and RightThisMinute host Christian Vera will start the morning with a fireside chat about Latinos in media and entertainment today, with a panel featuring author and activist Julissa Arce, Justice for Migrant Women founder Monica Ramírez, and Latino Decision co-founder Dr. Matt Barretto on how politics, activism, and the arts can intersect for a path forward.

Later in the evening at the ALIAs, we will be highlighting the contributions made by Latino icons, pioneers and communities to the American way of life we are all better able to truly understand what makes our nation great.

This distinguished event is dedicated to shedding light on 500 years of U.S. Latino history currently absent from our National Mall. We are the only organization dedicated to the creation of a Smithsonian National American Latino Museum on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. This long overdue museum is necessary to address the stark under representation of American Latinos in our national historic and cultural institutions, a neglect that results in the incomplete retelling of our American story.
