As Vice President of External Affairs for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Naomi Rodriguez leads the team’s civic, community, and philanthropic efforts with an emphasis on the organization’s relationships with local leaders, government & community organizations, and the many communities that make up the team’s market.
The Dodgers appointed Rodriguez in November, 2014. With a strong leadership background that spans the governmental, corporate and non-profit arenas, Rodriguez draws on a wealth of experience in communications strategy, with special emphasis on market and competitive analysis for short- and long-range business development, media campaigning, community outreach and image development.
Rodriguez served as Senior Director of Public Affairs, Marketing and Communications for Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP), a nonprofit that has provided quality preschool education to over 100,000 four-year-old children in Los Angeles County. Prior to joining LAUP, she held the following positions: Senior Manager of Marketing & Public Relations for DIRECTV, Inc. (2005-12); Assistant Deputy Mayor for former Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn (2002-05); and Director of Community Affairs for the Los Angeles Consulate General of Israel (2001-02).
She received her BA in Communications from California State University, Long Beach, and is a fellow of Harvard’s NHLI Executive Program. Rodriguez teaches at Santa Monica College through the Workforce & Economic Development Department.
