We are excited to announce that the public voting period for the FRIENDS 2023 Design Contest is now open!

This year, we received nearly 100 submissions from artists from across the country who share a vision of what our future museum will look like on the National Mall, alongside all of the other iconic museums that tell our nation’s story.

Now, we need YOU to help us determine which talented artist will be crowned this year’s winner. The winner will receive a $500 Target gift card and be featured throughout our advocacy campaign efforts.

Out of nearly 100 submissions, 10 designs advanced to the final round for public review and voting. The public now decides the submission with the most votes will be deemed the winner and receive the $500 grand prize. The time for voting is now, so spread the word and get your community voting today!

We are grateful for every artist who took the time to submit their designs and thankful to once again have the support and sponsorship of Target for our annual Design Contest.

We appreciate your continued support and commitment to celebrating the Latino community and our heritage through the artistic talent of our supporters.

Public voting closes on Sunday, September 17th, 2023, so vote today!

Congratulations to Fatima Olea (Arizona) for her 2022 Winning Design: “A little bird told me.”

Fatima said the acrylic on canvas painting “talks about heritage, culture, and how it’s been passed [down] generation by generation like the whispering of a little bird that carries all that wisdom from our ancestors.”
